Virginia Entrepreneurship Organization (VEO) is the community for ambitious student builders at the University of Virginia. At our core, we support students who are working on side projects and startups — those who are looking to build their first version of their product and onwards.
Our meetings involve:
Startup workshops to fine-tune your ideas or brainstorm new ones
Listening to experienced entrepreneurs speak about their startups and journeys
Getting answers to any questions you have about your projects
9/26: Student Panel Recap!
On Tuesday, September 26th, we hosted three incredible undergraduates for a student panel!
Among these students were Arjun Rohlfing-Das (Venture Partner @ Contrary, Prev @ Insight, Palm Drive Capital), Arnav Wadehra (Co-founder of Recipe, Jefferson Scholar), and Jeremy Suh (Co-founder of Recipe). We had an amazing time asking them questions about their startups, how they stay motivated in their work, and how UVA has helped them develop as entrepreneurs
We hope everyone who came found the event informative and fun! Thank you so much to our three student speakers!
10/2: Fireside Chat Recap!
On Friday, October 2nd, we hosted Alex Becker for a fireside chat!
Alex Becker (SWE @ Imprint, Former PM Intern at Microsoft, former VEO President) returned to share some wisdom and answer questions with students last Friday! It was a great opportunity for students to ask questions about his experiences as a Microsoft intern, the differences between working for Big Tech and smaller start-ups, and what it is like being a part of a Series B start-up like Imprint! We are so grateful that he joined us, and if anyone has any questions for him, feel free to reach out to him here: amb3yn@virginia.edu

Please read the message below from HooHacks about their 5th annual Ideathon on October 14th!
The HooHacks Team is proud to present Ideathon 2023, which will take place on October 14th from 10 AM - 7 PM at Rice Hall!
Ideathon is a networking, team building, and pitching technology entrepreneurship event designed to help students with technical experience and students with business experience build their technical business idea. 💡
Student teams can meet 1:1 with industry experts about their ideas and form long lasting relationships with them as they continue to grow their ideas. 🤝
Sponsors will be holding workshops to teach students about pitching their ideas, valuing their potential businesses, and building technical prototypes. 📈
Teams will pitch their idea to a board of sponsors for funding, with the opportunity to win up to $1000 worth of seed money to help fund their startup.💰
This year, we have an exciting new healthcare track, sponsored by the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative's Patient Safety Technology Challenge, where you have the additional opportunity to pitch your healthcare-centric project idea for a chance at winning an additional $500. 🏥
And yes, there will be free food (breakfast + lunch) for attendees. 🍴
Registration closes October 8th! ⚠️
